Znači biće film #1

(“So it will be a movie #1”)

multi-channel video
Duration: 31’ 44’’
2024.

“Znači biće film” is presented on multiple screens. The film’s script collects the “caught” conversations and sounds of a group of friends during their trip in 2021 to Northern Kosovo to film, what ended up being a set of failed works, recorded on individual phones unintentionally.
This work traces a reenactment that addresses a case of a personal failed work and tries to answer the question of “How to rehearse the coming back to the scene of disappointment?”
It was filmed in May 2024 on the road between Brussels (BE) and Heille (NL). The reading is done by a new ad hoc collective, reenacting the previous one from a position of very different border politics.
Images on the multiple screens move the attention back and forth between the reenactment and the referenced video archive, and the borders are left mysterious.
The “behind the scene” recordings are translated into a script, and with that, these words become testimonies concerning a case of failure, naivety and repressive bureaucracy in the context of migration border control and daily political struggle in Kosovska Mitovica.
By listening, visitors actively engage in scenes of truth-making and transformation, building a collective capacity for imagining resistance to border-making that often extends beyond the apparent and the articulated.
